MONDELLO
One of the most famous beaches in Italy, Mondello is a seaside village a few kilometers from Palermo, famous for its white sandy beach, and distinctive seafood restaurants.
Its lovely beach is protected within the Capogallo and Monte Pellegrino Reserve, a place of devotion for the people of Palermo who go to pray to Saint Rosalia, Patron of the city. Goethe called it the most beautiful promontory in the world.
Another gem of this paradisiac beach is the Old Stabilimento, one of the most beautiful Art Nouveau buildings in the world.
The village is also a favorite spot for sports, including windsurfing, kiting, sailing, climbing, biking and running; athletes love to train in Mondello.
